Personal Realizations
Sometimes when I talk with my fiance, Gimel, I forget that he is not as technical as I am. So when I get questions from him asking me why and how about what I consider to be technical-based questions, I go into technical details and just confuse the heck out of him. I didn't stop to think that his questions this morning were not development based. What initially started out as a discussion between the Amazon Kindle Fire, the differences between the Fire and other Kindles, and the comparison between the Fire and the iPad quickly turned into a debate as to the technical and legal aspects of why the Fire and iPad cannot share the same apps, how the ISP affects jail-broken apps, and further into why the Windows OS and Apple OS do not share the same programs, even though both devices and operating systems might use the same code base.
Scholarly Expectations
In other news, I have been reading The Leader's Companion: Insights on Leadership Through the Ages by J. Thomas Wren for my current LDR/711A (LEADERSHIP THEORIES AND PRACTICE) course. So far it is an interesting book with several opinions and experiences from different people who have theories on what leadership is to them. When I have read the book in its entirety [which will hopefully be finished by the end of this week], I will post a bibliography of it.
